CONFLICT PREVENTION – COLONIZATION

In some local conflicts, particularly those associated extractive activities. as mining or oil are captured by groups outside the conflict zone. And suddenly the violence increases, while dialogue is difficult or disappears. This colonization of the conflict is a political process, which has three common patterns. The first is the introduction of an ideology that justifies violence. The second is the infiltration of external political operators, and third vertical and authoritarian organization that dominates local organizations.

If an ideologIn a society where there are different ideological, political or religious, there will be a variety of leadership. But in a society where a single ideology dominates, leadership will always be similar. The generalization of an ideology of violence, has the purpose promote and justify violence, creating the basis for a spiral.y of violence diffuse, and introduction of external political operators who seek to replace or control local leaders, in the conflict zone, we can be to a colonization of the conflict.

The next step is a vertical organization, which through intimidation take total control of the organizations in the area is installed. A colonized conflict will be much more difficult to solve.
